To provide our market analysis, portfolio tracking, and cloud synchronization features, we process the following categories of information:
- Account & Authentication Information: When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we collect your primary email address, display name, profile avatar URL, and Google Account ID via Firebase Authentication to authenticate your identity and manage your subscription tier across your devices.
- Portfolio & Watchlist Data: Stock tickers, transaction logs (average purchase price, shares, timestamps), realized profits, custom watchlists, and user preference settings created inside the app.
- Purchase & Subscription History: Digital in-app purchase tokens and subscription receipts processed securely via Google Play In-App Billing to determine your membership tier (e.g., Freemium vs. Gold). We do not store or process your credit card or financial banking details.
- App Performance & Diagnostics: Aggregated diagnostic metrics, performance data, and non-identifiable crash logs to ensure app stability and fix technical errors. We do not collect device advertising identifiers (AD_ID is explicitly disabled and removed).
2. Google Drive API & Sensitive Scope Disclosure (drive.appdata)
Our application requests authorization for the sensitive Google Drive scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata.
Strict Purpose, Sandboxing & Limited Use:
- Exclusive Backup & Restore: The application uses this scope exclusively to create, update, and restore a small encrypted backup snapshot file (
user_backup.json) inside the user's hidden Application Data folder (appDataFolder) on their personal Google Drive.
- Sandboxed Isolation: The application CANNOT view, list, read, modify, or delete any other files, documents, photos, or folders in your Google Drive. All access is strictly sandboxed to the application's private
appDataFolder.
- Zero Server-Side Retention of Drive Data: Your backup file resides solely within your personal Google Drive storage. It is never transferred to, stored on, or monetized by external third-party servers.
- Google API Limited Use Compliance: The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with vetted service providers strictly necessary to deliver core app functionality:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Firestore): Used for secure user login, server-side subscription validation, and delivery of market signal notifications.
- Google Play In-App Billing: Handles transaction processing, subscription lifecycle events, and billing verification.
- Google Drive API: Sandboxed cloud storage provider for your personal backup file.
4. Data Sharing, Advertising & Artificial Intelligence
- We NEVER sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal or financial data.
- We NEVER transfer user data to advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms.
- We NEVER use your personal data, portfolio entries, or Google Drive backup files to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
5. Data Retention, Control & Deletion Rights
You have full ownership and unilateral control over your data at all times:
- In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated records at any time directly in the app via Settings > Account > Delete Account. This immediately deletes your Firebase authentication record, server-side user document, and permanently purges the
user_backup.json backup from your Google Drive appDataFolder.
- Manual Google Drive Purge: You can disconnect the app and remove hidden data directly from Google Drive at any time via drive.google.com > Settings (gear icon) > Manage Apps > Kuni, US-Market Forecaster > Options > Delete hidden app data.
- Local Cache Clearing: Clearing app data or uninstalling the app permanently purges all local SQLite/Room database entries from your device.
6. Security Standards
We implement comprehensive security measures to safeguard your information:
- All network communications are strictly enforced over encrypted HTTPS / TLS 1.3 channels.
- Local security tokens and cryptographic signatures are protected using the hardware-backed Android Keystore system.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Kuni, US-Market Forecaster is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
